Before KivvaTech, every booking was handled by phone or email, reports arrived as scanned PDFs up to a week later, and inspectors had no digital tools in the field. The challenge
Australia's property inspection market was entirely phone-driven. Before You Buy was coordinating 250+ inspectors across 40 cities via phone calls and email chains. Clients waited up to a week for PDF reports delivered by email. There was no visibility into inspector availability, no automated scheduling, and no way to track booking status in real time.
Manual booking across 40+ cities
Staff were manually fielding calls, checking inspector availability by phone, and confirming bookings via email. Peak periods during property auctions overwhelmed the team entirely.
Report delivery taking up to 7 days
Inspectors completed their assessments on paper, then typed up reports manually. Clients had no visibility into when their report would arrive and frequently called to chase.
No inspector management tools

What we built
We designed and built an end-to-end platform: a consumer booking engine with real-time inspector availability, a React Native field app for inspectors to complete and submit reports on-site, automated PDF generation and delivery, and a full business intelligence dashboard for the operations team. The platform went live in 14 weeks.
Real-time booking engine
Consumer-facing booking flow with live inspector availability calendars per city, service type selection (building, pest, strata, pool), instant confirmation, and Stripe payment. Group booking for property managers handles multiple inspections per address.
Inspector mobile app
React Native iOS and Android app with structured inspection checklists, photo annotation with defect tagging, voice-to-text notes, and offline mode for properties with poor connectivity.
Automated report generation
Server-side PDF generation from structured inspection data. Reports are assembled, branded, and emailed to the client within 2 hours of inspection completion. Summary and full versions generated automatically.
Operations dashboard
Full booking pipeline view, inspector performance metrics, city-level capacity utilisation, revenue analytics, and automated invoicing. Administrators can reassign bookings, manage inspector certifications, and handle exceptions from one interface.
Client tracking portal
Post-booking status tracker for clients: inspection confirmed, inspector en route, inspection complete, report ready. Push and email notifications at each stage eliminated the majority of inbound status calls.
